Applications are now open for the GreenCode Hackathon Zambia, a 48-hour technology and sustainability-focused programme set to take place in Lusaka from 30 October to 1 November 2026.
The hackathon will bring together up to 100 developers, entrepreneurs, designers, sustainability experts and other problem-solvers to develop technology-driven responses to environmental and economic challenges.
Organised around Garage48’s rapid-prototyping model, participants will move from idea validation and team formation to product development and pitching within the three-day event. Participants can arrive with an existing concept or join a team and develop an idea during the hackathon.
The programme will also provide access to local and international mentors during the build process.
Beyond the hackathon, six winning teams will receive follow-on support from Garage48 and BongoHive and share a €6,000 award fund. The programme is also positioned as an entry point into the wider Twin Digital Foundry pre-seed ecosystem.
Garage48 describes its hackathons as intensive 48-hour events designed to take ideas towards viable prototypes, with teams working through structured checkpoints, mentoring and final demonstrations.
The GreenCode Hackathon Zambia will be held in Lusaka from 30 October to 1 November 2026, with applications closing on 20 October 2026.
